Scholarship applications will be accepted from graduating high school seniors or students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate institutions of higher education who have a relationship with the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, Michigan, and demonstrate a financial need.

The Scholarship Committee awards scholarships based on criteria set up by the Session of First Presbyterian Church and the guidelines made by the sponsors of the scholarships.  The amounts of the scholarships are based upon available scholarship funds, which may vary from year to year depending on investment market activity, and the number of applications received.  The Committee may or may not award scholarships for post graduate studies depending on the availability of funds.

1. The deadline for applications for the 2024-2025 academic year is Sunday June 30, 2024.  Submission can be in writing to the Church or email (bookkeeper@jacksonfirstpres.org).

2. No later than July 31, the Scholarship Committee will announce the scholarship awards, if any, to the applicants.

3. Checks in the amount of the award will be issued in August 18 at a Sunday Service (Blessing of Backpacks) and will be made payable to the student.  Additional contact information is requested below to assist in providing the award.

4. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic performance, character and financial need with consideration being given to the family’s financial situation, other aid which the student may expect to receive, and the applicant’s ongoing participation in the church or other Christian activities.
